Mozambique Ministries

Another highlight of this month was the Jorge’s trip to Mozambique. There has been some intense communications with missionary teams in Mozambique and we have been looking for ways to help with the very needy situation there. Most people know the sad reality that Mozambique is the 4th poorest nation in the world. However, some of the sweetest people in Africa      by the account of everyone who ever been there or visited. Kenyan missionaries who are working there, they usually go to stay for a few months and usually never come back. Some of these are missionaries we help and many of our audio bibles and some financial support goes to them.

This time we stayed with Arie and Marie who run the Leprosy Mission in the North of Mozambique. They were so kind in receiving us and giving us a nice beautiful room in their place. We are thankful for them and constantly pray for their work that includes evangelization. They encouraged us and we had a chance to look at a piece of land where possibility we can make the future office and base of wordproject activities. More on this in separate article.

We brought 50 audio Bibles in Portuguese and we distribute them amongst several ministries and as personal gifts to pastors and needy brethren.

One of the pastors we met, Malolo, works with prisons and he mentioned that people who are in prison are very receptive to the Gospel and the audio Bible is a tremendous tool to help regenerate and encourage those who are in prison.

We also fellowshipped with Paulo and Sandra, missionaries from Portugal. They were thankful for the audio Bibles and they have a project to record the Makua audio Bible – Makua is the most wide-spoken native language in Mozambique. We made agreements to continue to support the work there and a new trip is scheduled for August, when we should help with the implementation of the Makua audio recordings.
