If you are not excited about the Word of God, then you need to read It more often. We send a Verse of the Day to more than two hundred people in the 5 continents, and many are excited and express their gratitude on a daily basis. This is a precious gift from God, to let us know His thoughts, His plan, and to encourage and guide us daily. We have to be and we are excited about the Word of God. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalms 119:105
Other people are excited about bringing the Word in their own language to their people, and here we offer the resources that make that possible. A message we received recently says:
"I am developing a free, non-profit Bible study app for Serbian-speaking Christians ("Proučavanje Biblije"). It has no ads and no paid features. It helps people read the Bible, study in groups, mentor one another and pray together. We would like to offer your Serbian audio Bible (the Daničić–Karadžić translation, which matches the text in our app) so users can listen to the chapters. According to the online stats for Worproject main site, it is not hard to see that we have more users in South Arabia than Spain and more users in the Arab Emirates than Portugal. Also, over 30% of our users are in India, and another big part of them are in China. Furthermore, we have reasons to believe many of our users in the USA are immigrants from other parts of the world.
We are blessed to be involved in such ministry, freely serving the Word of God in so many languages of the world. The great commission in Mark 16:15 – ‘Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature‘ – is being fulfilled here. Having attended many church denominations and visited hundreds of temple churches that cost millions to build, we are here to say, with all due respect, that probably, we are living in a post-denominational, post-church building era.

I have been reading the Amharic Bible on your website and have noticed occasional missing or altered words. However, as I continued reading, I discovered a serious omission that needs attention. In Psalms 119:1, the opening section header/letter, "Alef" / "አሌፍ", is missing. Because Psalms 119 is an acrostic poem structured around the Hebrew alphabet, omitting these section markers is a major error. I hope this was unintentional. Please review and fix this issue as soon as possible. KF

The problem is finally identified. What to make of the solution? Too little, too late? Back, ten or fifteen years ago, it was not hard for parents to detect the dangers of the internet for underage children. Many were often criticized and vilified for not allowing their children to have free access to the Internet. Today, some states are making it a law. [adults will be next?]
Notwithstanding, the internet has many benefits, allowing good information to reach people who could not accesss it before. Wordproject was founded to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now children in Christian and other nations, have a chance to learn about Jesus Christ and Salvation before the age of 16 – anywhere, anytime.
Let us hope that parents will take this opportunity to guide their children to absorb good positive content – including Biblical morals and principles. Hopefully they will learn the Bible and experience Christ before they experience Cyberbullying.

Recently I heard an Oxford professor giving an explanation on how Christianity is actually not a religion. He explained that in a religion you work for your salvation. In a religion a person works to get merits, and at the end of the course God will decide if that person makes the grade. Like in a University course, the graduation depends on the merits, and comes at the end of the course. The professor goes on explaining that in true Christianity the graduation, the acceptance, comes at the beginning, A person accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, repents from their sins and that is the beginning of a new life. When a person acknowledges and accepts the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins, the change of heart and spirit, will result in good deeds and merits.
John, or Saint John, the Apostle, explains this simple truth very well in the 5th Chapter of the Book of 1 John: ‘And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. ‘ (verse 11 and 12)

‘We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. (verse 18)

Bible versions are always a challenge for online Bible publishing. First of all, there are new versions coming up all the time. Every new version claiming to be better than the previous ones. In fact, they are not. Imagine the works of Shakespeare being updated all the time and instead of ‘to be or not to be: that is the question‘, we constantly find different translations and perhaps no few explanations of its meaning. At WP, in general, we stick to the oldest versions of the Bible, the ones that have been used for generations, whenever we can find them. Concerning the Portuguese Bible translation, for example, we use the JFA – João Ferreira de Almeida. This is the oldest Bible in Portuguese, from the 18th century. Before that the only Bible one could read in Portugal would be the Vulgata Latina, the Latin Bible, from the 4th century. Remember, the Bible was communicated by word of mouth, or preached by priests, for many centuries. Before the invention of the printing press, they were written by hand, manuscripts, and therefore there were limited samples available. We have come a long way and we are blessed – we no longer live in darkness, unless we chose to. We have enough Light and Truth to behave.

As you know, we share the ‘Verse of the Day‘ with many people. In fact, more than two hundred friends receive it on their mobile devices daily. We are not sure how many read it, but many do react and send feedback daily or at least occasionally. In any case, a Verse of the Day on their mobile device everyday won’t damage anything and perhaps will even bring a bit of sanity to the crazy cacophony of disphoric news that are fed to us daily. The good news is that the Verse of the Day is now available on our App as well as WP webpage – no less than in all the languages we are blessed to offer – that is over 70 languages.
