Should the Bible be taught is public schools? This is a question that comes to many parents who struggle with problematic children and in fact everyone who is concerned with the increasing lack of morals and good customs in our societies. The answer is not easy because the Bible has been abused by political entities to justify all kinds of agendas. The dogmatic bias of different denominations can also be detrimental. We believe that, above all, the Bible should be taught at home – by the parents.
While searching for this topic online, we found the following questions and answers:
Why is Bible important to students?
‘Reading the Bible on a regular and consistent basis has several benefits. First, the Bible shows us God’s character and provides us God’s revelation of himself to his people. In each section of the Bible, we see God’s holy, unchanging, faithful, gracious and loving character.’
How does reading the Bible affect the brain?
‘According to Susan L. Davis, a Christian neuroscientist and author of How Reading the Bible Affects Your Brain, reading the Bible can release dopamine in our brain, which is a neurotransmitter that regulates mood, motivation, memory, and learning.’
What happens if you read the Bible every day?
‘This changes your outlook on life, your attitude, and perspective. Your goals and desires are shifted, too. The more you know God from reading the Bible, the more you desire him and are changed for the better. You experience more peace and live a better life overall by knowing your creator.’
Is reading the Bible good for mental health?
‘Those who read the Bible at least four times a week experience much better mental health. Specifically, they were found to have 30% less chance of struggling with loneliness, and 32% less chance of experiencing anger issues’
These are opinions and interesting studies that may encourage some to read more Bible. There is also the fundamental reason: the Spirit, as in John 6:63 – ‘It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.’
As we know, Wordproject exists for this reason. Whether at home, at school, at work or just about anywhere, anytime, one can have the Word in their language to read or to listen to. This is possible because God made it possible and has been using people like you to keep it up. We pray it will continue to be so.

There is a continuous flow of changes and improvements to be made at our websites and apps. This requires constant engagement with computers and devices. AI, the much trouted new frontier in human development, so far, is doing nothing for us. In fact, we do not believe there is real inteligence there, much less wisdom or discernment. Thus, we shall continue to plow the old way.
