February Update

Times of turmoil and instability, when people feel insecure and fearful, this is the time to stop and ponder what really matters in life and what is worth fighting for. Our battle is not with weapons of destruction, our aim is not to kill. We bring life, and hope, and Truth, and we point to eternal Salvation through Jesus Christ, as clearly manifests in His Word.
Blessed are the peacemakers, Jesus clearly said in Matthew, chapter 5. Those who think they are doing God a favor by supporting wars and killing, even claiming Old Testament passages to support their stand, are not doing God a favor, they will have to give answer for this deception.
‘Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; ‘- That is Jesus ‘ commandment.

This month we spent lots of time updating old sites, like Wordpocket, Wordplanet.net, Wordprokids, etc. These receive less attention on a monthly basis, therefore, because of changes to servers and paths , in time, some links ceased to work.

These sites, although less relevant than Wordproject.org, still receive a considerable amount of traffic from certain areas of the world. Since we own the domains and we would not consider releasing them, they are to be kept alive. If nothing else, for this very fundamental reason: Christian or Bible domains, if abandoned, are usually purchased by betting sites, and casinos, who use the fact that the domain is already known, to attract new customers to their business. We learned this from experience. Years ago, we lost a very well-known domain because we were late to renew it. When we tried to update, just in a matter of few days, it had already been sold . There was a certain amount of dishonesty on the part of the domain registrar, as they should have inform us. Obviously, since then, we have transferred all our domains out from them, to another company, however the damage had been done. Today, sadly, wordplanet.org is not a Bible site anymore but a casino page as you may see here:

The good news are: we learned our lesson! Today, thankfully, according to online traffic analysts (Semrush), Wordproject is the most widely known and used website based in Macau. Much ahead of Venitian, MGM and other casinos, TDM, Government Sites, etc. We thank God for that.
See the images below:

Sometimes we are asked why did we spendd time in Africa? What what the purpose of leaving China and go to Africa? Well, here is the short answer: The vision started when we received requests to include the Swahili audio Bible on our website. We managed to get in touch with someone in Kenya who offer to record it for us. He sent a sample to us but the recordings were very poor. The chickens could also be heard on the background. After many tries, back and forth, we decided that spending some time in Africa, besides the help we could bring to the recording of the Swahili Bible, it could be also a great school in experience, for our lives and the lives our children. We went for one year but ended up staying almost 5. During that time, not only did we record the Swahili audio Bible, but also set the framework for the recording of the Luganda (Uganda) Audio Bible, the Somali Audio Bible and the Amharic (Ethiopia) Audio Bible.

Also important was there that we started with the distribution of free Bible audio players, which we imported from China and distributed by the thousands. By the grace of God, we also started a ministry to the blind that led to the distribution of thousands of audio Bible players to blind associations in Kenya and other parts of Africa. We thank the Lord for using one of our best friends in Macau to finance this endeavor. Below are assorted images of that mission, some already seen, others not. Always good to remember the great things the Lord has done.

And here are the WP monthly stats:

and the overall stats:

Thank you so much for your contibution to make this ministry possible.

Love and prayers.

2026 – January Update

(from WP mailbox:)

WK: I do appreciated your work. My wife and son spent 2 years in Ethiopia professing our Faith in Christ and we certainly understand the great need in this world for God’s Word. I would like to ask you a kindness please. I am 53 and recently had a serious of 3 strokes.  Typing and fine motor skills is very difficult and I am having to use aids such as dictation to record emails etc. I do so miss the ease with which I could turn the pages or navigate through your audio Bible on my phone. I wonder if or might be possible please to have your Audio RS600 version?.

WP: Thank you for writing. We would be more than happy to send you a sr600 audio player for free. However, we have encountered a problem with the expedition. The post office and couriers have refused to accept the device because it has a battery in it. Until we solve this I am afraid we cannot be much of a help along that line. Praying for you and your family. WP

WK:Thank you for your answer, May the battery be removed and I buy a battery up here and install?

WP: Send your address so we can send to you.  Bless.

The SR600 (see image) is ready to go.

Sending the SR600 via post or courier has been a problem in recent years. Unfortunately the devicee does not work without the battery. Once the battery is out, connecting it to the main current with the transformer, won’t work . That could be a design problem but that is the way it is. We pray we could fix this in future versions. This is something to pray for.

We do have the Apps, and they are great as Bible players to. One user wrote in the app reviews:

Great app! Once you download the Scriptures in the language you want, you can read everything without the internet. You can even have two languages at once for study. [MA]

Other comments this month were:

  • This app for listening to the Bible is very good. DD
  • I have to open this Bible every day to listen to the scriptures. I really love the way that gentle man reads the scriptures. AJ
  • Simply a 1000/10! Very easy to use and with top-notch narration. GOD BLESS THE WHOLE TEAM. SC

So, we have a lot to be thankful for. Special thanks to those who are updating our Apps for Android and IOS.

And here is an AI summary of WP email communications with a new friend from India: (notice AI reads our emails – but it does not answer the questions…)

AI: Kaushal initially reached out expressing doubts after stepping away from his assembly and prayer meetings. Kaushal requested a phone call, but J. S. stated that no phone number is available and asked him to write his questions. Kaushal detailed his doubts regarding God’s purpose for creation and the lack of explicit mention of Jesus in the Old Testament.

JS answered Kaushal in this manner:

“Thank you for writing . Your doubts are very common among Christians. Many people asks the same questions as you. Why God created us? Romans 9:20-21 – “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?  Hath not the potter power over the clay,”
My personal opinion is that God created us so we can praise Him. Worship Him. Love Him.
Jesus in the old Testament: There are many prophecies in the old testament, including a description of Jesus in Isaiah 53. . As for the name to be mentioned in the Old Testament, some people say that Yeshua, Yahweh, referred to Jesus . Personally, i believe that Jesus is both God and Man. As a man He was given the name Jesus, by the angel Gabriel, sent by God. As God, or the second person of the Trinity, He is also mentioned as The Word. John 1:1 – in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

So, Jesus is revealed in the New Testament. [ John 1:14 – And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.] Whether there is reference in the Old Testament to the name Jesus or any other name, in my opinion, should not be important. Because the Old Testament announces the coming of the Messiah, and he came. Praise God. Blessings. Praying for you.

On another topic:

LOVE

‘We can give without love, but we cannot love without giving’.

This is better explained in I Corinthians 13:

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity [love], I am nothing.'

December Update

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Mark 13:31. The words that will never pass away are the words of Jesus. Those are the words that will be judging us in the day of judgment – ‘… the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:48.

Our words are VERY important too. With our words we may curse or bless others. Actually,we shall give account for every word as much as for our actions. Jesus himself said: ”For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.‘ Matthew 12:37

This past year, Wordproject suplied more than 150 million pages of Bible texts, and over 240 million Bible Audio chapters. That amounts to billions of Words. We praise God for that.

A new year has started and we pray that more and more people can be reached through our efforts. This online ministry started in 1997, with the ChristianAsia website, and was upgraded to Wordproject in 2002. For near 30 years we have been serving the Lord in this manner. The job is not done though. Stay with us. The harvest truly is plenteous… Matthew 9:37

If you are reading this, you probably have contributed to the development and progress of Wordproject. We appreciate your vison. Making the Word of God freely available to as many people as possible and to help enlighten this troubled world.

Happy New Year!!

November Update

We have millions. Not in the bank, of course, but millions of souls who use WordProject for spiritual food on a daily basis. We are blessed, and so are those who seek to know the Lord and His Word and abide with It daily. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. ” Psalm 1.

This month our records show over 15 million pageviews and over 10 million visits to WP. We are blessed.

We are not alone in the mission of proclaiming the Word of God to the whole world. We are thankful for you, your support and your prayers, and for others who are also trying to make their contribution to the great mission. The following are two emails we reeived recently:

“Hi there! I'm the Localization Director at Waha.app, and I'm working on getting our Discovery Bible Study app into new languages. Someone pointed me to WordProject as a place where we could access some audio bibles for our app. I'm currently especially interested in the Somali Bible you have listed. I see that you say that many of the bibles on the site are in Public Domain, but not all of them. I was wondering if you could provide the copyright information for the Somali Bible you have listed. If it's not a public domain bible, we would like to pursue and negotiate a license agreement to use that Bible translation and recordings in our free Bible study app. Thank you! I look forward to chatting! Blessings!” JM

October Update

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus –1 Timothy 2:5

It does not take long, if we spend anytime scrolling social media on the Internet, to find that mainstream churches are now investing time, and probably lots of money, to make their voices heard and promote their particular denomination on different platforms. Some are intensively promoting and explaining their dogmas to the millions online, trying to persuade people that this or that church religion, the one they promote, is the one and only that holds the truth and is able to guarantees eternal salvation of the soul. Most likely they try to convince people to attend their church and become a member.

The first problem with that is that the Internet goes all over the world, which means to countries and lands where church denominations are not present. So, if attending church, or having ceremonies and rituals where the presence of a pastor, or a priest, is required for salvation, as in some denominations, then millions of people cannot be saved for the simple reason such church denomination is not present in that country or territory.

When we passed through the jungles of Africa, some years ago, and we saw how isolated some tribal people lived, in villages out there, we were wondering how some of these people could find salvation in Jesus Christ through a church denomination that would have to come and build a building, and have enough pastors or priests to send there to preach or minister confession, communion, baptism or other ceremonies and rituals that some church denominations deem fundamental for salvation.

To this, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has already prescribed, in the Book of John, Chapter 4, verse s 23 and 24 : ”But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
Wordproject is inspired by the Word to bridge that gap (‘the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.‘ – John 6:63) allowing the Spirit to reach every corner of the world. We have studied this matter extensively and in depth, during the years we did ministry in China. During that time, we put together a text called the House Church Vision, which you may read here:

In context with the above, here are a few images we just received from our brother in Africa, whom WP helps to support. Here he is teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a Muslim predominant coastal area of East Africa. We thank you who believe and trust Wordproject is a mission worthy to be supported.

WP outreach has increased again in October, as more people in many countries, big and small, are finding the Bible easy to read and listen to, in our platform. Here some records from our servers:

In our main website we received over 7.2 million visitors who accessed more than 11 million Bibles pages.

WP indirect outreach is also increasing, as more developers find our resources helpful to implement their own projects. Below are two letters received this month, concerning the use of our resources by other projects:

Hi there! If it's not a public domain bible, we would like to pursue and negociate a license agreement to use that Bible translation and recordings in our free Bible study app. Thank you! I look forward to chatting! Blessings! JM (A: It is Public Domain. no need negotiations, just use what you need for God's glory)
Dear WordProject team, I am developing a free, non-profit, ad-free desktop application for studying the Holy Bible in Amharic. I would like to request permission to include the Amharic Bible text from WordProject in my application. The app will not generate any income, will not include ads, and will credit WordProject clearly on the “About” page. Could you please let me know if I can use the text under these terms, or if there are specific conditions I should follow? Thank you for your time and for providing such valuable resources. Kind regards, ... (later:) I’ve now published the Amharic Bible app on Flathub, giving full credit to WordProject both in the app and in the README. You can view the repository and project details here: Thank you once again for your generosity and blessing in allowing this work to reach more people. Wishing you continued success and blessings, A.W.

Many don’t know but WP also offers a multilanguage function online: See a sample:

1, 2, 3 or even 4 languages, at once. Compare transations, if you speak several languages.

On the App front, the new WP app, which includes all languages on the website and more that are not available there yet. Slowly but surely in demand. The Bible in several tribal languages from Africa is there. Download it and try it here (Android) and here (IOS)

Above image: New WP App growth in the past 365 days

Below are some messages received from users concerning the APP:

It's good app, Thanks may the LORD our savior continue to bless us all, but I think u hv to add option or feature where chapters can keep going automatically especially in audio form, because now u can listen to one chapter when it finish it can't go to the next chapter without ur attention. TL
Excellent application. God bless you all that make this application. Yet it be an added advantage if Notebook for sermon taking, with bible references and cross references with explanations be added... Wishing you all GREATER GRACE for Greater accomplishment for the Kingdom of God... The Almighty GOD you Honour sacrificially Shall reward publicly in Jesus Living Christ Mighty Name. Amen... PK

September Update

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

The battle for the minds and hearts o f the people is raging on. Our struggles are how to keep positive, trusting and peacefully in troubled times. Some people get into meditation, or Yoga, or other exercises to relax the mind and to calm the spirit. Is it effective? Perhaps. I never tried. However, for me, keeping my mind constantly on the Lord’s Word and praying is the key. This is the most efective way to stay victorious and above worries. In the Wordproject website we find selections of verses on topics such as Victory, Resting in the Lord, Freedom from Fear, Prayer, etc. These are a real help. Bible verses and passages can only be a help if we read them and take them to heart – that is, memorize them. That can be done with a daily habit of repeating scriptures in our minds and claiming them in our prayers. We need to do that. Our happiness and well-being depends on it. Let us start today.

During our monthly review, we go through our mailing list and select messages from our users. Some are just technical but others are encouraging and uplifting. Here are a couple from this month’s income emails:

I hope you are doing well. We really appreciate what you have been doing making open-source resources available to reach out multitudes with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As an Evangelical Christian Ministry and member of Evangelical Christian Community of Ethiopia, we are also striving to restore the Gospel to the pulpits
One of the aspects we focus while doing this is to avail Bible Commentaries, Dictionaries, Concordances and other resources in local languages. Currently, we are building a Bible Study Application which includes different Bible Versions, Study Plans, Commentaries, Concordances, Dictionaries, Studying platforms, Maps and more.
As we are advancing our resources catalogue, we would like to request for the JSON format of the Amharic Bible translation that is found in your website. This will significantly reduce our efforts in development of the mobile application we are working on and help us focus on other aspects of our project. Given that our aim is to equip ministers for service and believers as a whole for discipleship, we kindly request your assistance with the process.
Saudacoes no amor do Senhor:

I have used it for several years, it is a blessing, it helps me meditate on the word, highly recommended EM

Shorts and Tik Tok videos are generating some buzz and although not reaching too many, is very likely that the audience’s genre is completely different from the website’s.

A sample here:

Or if you would like to see many clips in sequence, try the Playlist: It is fun and helps with that memory input we talked about:

Other than that, WP Website registered an icrease of over 10% in users and pageviews this month. Praise the Lord.

We appreciate your support and prayers that make this ministry possible.

August Update

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalms 119:130

Much has been said about AI (Artificial Intelligence) and its effects on human behavior. On one side, a recent study showed that this will be the first time in human history where young people are not more intelligent than their parents (not in my family, of course 🙂 – apparently this assessment is because young people today are excessively dependent of technology. Some specialists wisely say that the use of AI should be not to retrieve answers but to stretch our thinking.
Sounds good to me.

Recently we placed a search online for “Portuguese Bible Versions”. Google AI gave us a list of Bibles and stated the advantages of one version over other versions, etc. We noticed that at least some of the information was what we have stated in an article we placed on our website, more than a decade ago. Therefore, the only intelligence here was the art of copying work already produced. Someone said that AI does not have the Holy Spirit, and obviously cannot discern what is a good Bible version from what is a bad or corrupted Bible version.
Of course not.

Meanwhile, we took some time to search for audio Bibles in different languages. We were happy to find out that in most languages we searched for, Wordproject showed up as first or second option and certaily always on the first page of the search. We praise God for that.

Although not a surprise, we also found our APP being used by another entity and available on some APK platform. This is basically the charater of the Internet and we have learned to live with it.

From Africa we received the following email:

'Hey! I live in Nairobi Kenya where there are a lot of Somali people. I am looking to print some small gospel of Matthew booklets in their languages and I was wondering if you are willing to grant us permission to use your translation to print them. I don’t want to cause any copyright issues. Let me know any thoughts you guys have and thank you for what you do!' -

As usual, we do not mind, and actually encourage the use of our resources for evangelization.

Our Tik Tok is going: slowly but surely:

Youtube shorts interest is up again:

YT shorts stats say:

Click above to see a sample of our short clips.

One of our main jobs is to maintain and upkeep our online presence. There are corrrections, updates, changes, errors and server related issues always to be fixed. We are thankful that we have help with many of these tasks: faithful people who love the Lord and His Word and want to make sure that millions of people all over the world (over 6 million, this month) can read or hear the Bible in their own languages.
